Site Coordinator and Permit Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Coordinator and Permit Specialist to join our team in MSD Australia & New Zealand. In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting the site by ensuring all contractor inductions are conducted safely and efficiently. This includes assessing hazards and risks associated with contractor work and issuing appropriate permits-to-work.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of New Zealand safety standards and be able to work collaboratively with other functions to support site priorities. You will also be responsible for administering and operating our company's staff and contractor management systems, including but not limited to Totara and ePass.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure participation in permit-to-work is conducted in accordance with the permit's, and our company and Worksafe NZ's policies
- Review/issue necessary permits required for intended works
- Carry out assigned pre and post inspections/task observations for permit work
- Ensure work is completed to a satisfactory state prior to closing off permits
- Ensure hazards are identified within the department
- Maintain engineering staff and Contractors training and records
- Administer and operate company's staff and contractor management systems
Requirements
- Experience working with contractors and/or contracting environment (industrial preferred)
- Working knowledge of New Zealand safety standards, requirements, and legislation
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Report and investigation writing skills
- Computer Skills Microsoft products
