New Zealand Police is the lead agency responsible for preventing crime and enhancing community safety. It works in partnership with individuals, communities, businesses, and other public sector agencies towards the vision of making New Zealand the safest country. Police is the government’s largest front-line response agency with around 15,000 staff in large and small communities all over New Zealand and in liaison and policing development roles overseas.
The Technical Operations Group (TOG) within the National Criminal Investigation Group (NCIG) at PNHQ is responsible for providing specialist covert technical surveillance capabilities to primarily support Serious & Organised crime, and National Security investigations across all Police districts.
To enable and deliver Our Business and support the NZ Police vision to be the safest country, we are looking for a proactive Covert Method of Entry (CMoE) Coordinator to join our team in Wellington. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our highly innovative, motivated and skilled team, working in an agile and dynamic work environment.
To support the delivery of these outcomes the CMoE Coordinator will lead the portfolio and its strategic development to enable serious crime investigations and to target transnational and organised crime.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Leads the portfolio and its strategic development, oversees training, development and mentoring of staff.
- Ensuring that the wider CMoE capability is across emerging international technologies and methodologies
- Maintains oversight of CMoE capabilities including research & development, operational deployments and ensures risks are managed and/or mitigated.
- Provides advice to TOG operatives, Operations Supervisors and Managers to overcome operational challenges.
- Coordinates CMoE resources to ensure specialist capabilities are efficiently deployed.
- Lead the activities for Our Business and the Police High Performance Framework.
- Provides advice and recommendations to the National Manager: National Technical Operations Group, and National Technical Manager.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with TOG staff, district and service centre staff, partner agencies and vendors.
- Actively encourage and enable Wellness and Safety initiatives and training

Industry experience in one or more of these fields is highly desired, but not essential:
- Locksmithing
- Automotive Security
- Access Control
- Electronic Security
- Technical Operations
This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is “to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them.”

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,178.00 and $119,073.00 dependant on skills and experience relevant to the role.
