About the role
The Technical Operations Group (TOG) within the National Criminal Investigation Group (NCIG) at PNHQ is responsible for providing specialist covert technical surveillance capabilities to primarily support Serious & Organised crime, and National Security investigations across all Police districts.
To enable and deliver Our Business and support the NZ Police vision to be the safest country, we are looking for a proactive Covert Method of Entry (CMoE) Coordinator to join our team in Wellington. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our highly innovative, motivated and skilled team, working in an agile and dynamic work environment.
To support the delivery of these outcomes the CMoE Coordinator will lead the portfolio and its strategic development, including the overseeing of training, the development and mentoring of staff, and ensuring that the wider CMoE capability is across emerging international technologies and methodologies to enable serious crime investigations and to target transnational and organised crime.
Industry experience in a CMoE discipline, and / or a strong operational background with demonstrated leadership, initiative, innovation and a continuous improvement mind-set are key requirements for this challenging but rewarding position, which has a strong focus on capability development.

The CMoE Coordinator will role model behaviours that encourages a positive and constructive culture, and will have well-developed management and leadership skills to ensure specialist resources are efficiently deployed, accountability is in place for training and other administrative requirements, and ensures the high-quality delivery of TOG services aligned to Our Values and the Police High Performance Framework.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Leads the portfolio and its strategic development, including the overseeing of training, the development and mentoring of staff.
- Ensuring that the wider CMoE capability is across emerging international technologies and methodologies
- Maintains oversight of CMoE capabilities including Research & Development, and operational deployments, and ensures risks are managed and / or mitigated.
- Provides advice to TOG operatives, Operations Supervisors and Managers to overcome operational challenges.
- Coordinates CMoE resources to ensure specialist capabilities are efficiently deployed.
- Lead the activities for Our Business and the Police High Performance Framework.
- Provides advice and recommendations to the National Manager: National Technical Operations Group, and National Technical Manager.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with TOG staff, district and service centre staff, partner agencies and vendors.
- Actively encourage and enable Wellness and Safety initiatives and training

- Experience with project and financial management.
- A collaborative and participatory style that encourages joint working practice, information sharing and innovation.
- A high level of commitment to quality and service, with emphasis on continuous improvement, and seeking excellence.
- Well-developed communication skills - verbal and written
