About Us

Bathurst Resources Limited operates the Rotowaro coalfield and opencast mine, located near Huntly. This facility is the second-largest opencast coal mine in New Zealand and employs over 550 people. We strive to provide a positive work-life balance by being within reach of Raglan and Hamilton's city life or beach destinations.

The Opportunity

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will oversee the excavator crew responsible for planned servicing and breakdown maintenance across our fleet. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation and optimal equipment performance.

Your Role

You will lead this highly skilled crew through effective management, providing leadership in health and safety practices, budget management, and large excavator maintenance expertise. This position requires experience working on complex mining equipment and supervising teams to maintain efficient operations.

Requirements

  • A strong commitment to health and safety practices
  • Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in an engineering trade
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy earthmoving excavators, including Liebherr, Hitachi, Caterpillar, and Komatsu models
  • Experience with maintaining schedules and preventative maintenance planning
  • Full Class 1 NZ driver's licence
