  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Accounting team, providing guidance and direction on accounting issues and complex transactions.
  • Oversee the general ledger and month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Preparing and reviewing financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.Collaborating with other departments, including Actuarial, Investments, and Tax, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.Providing guidance and support to the Vice President of Corporate Accounting on key accounting issues and initiatives.Staying up-to-date with accounting standards, regulations, and industry developments to ensure that the company remains compliant with all applicable requirements.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Financial Reporting and Compliance Specialist who possesses excellent analytical abilities, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of financial regulations and industry developments. The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.Experience working with financial software and systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
