We are seeking a Catastrophic Event Response Specialist to join our team at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
**About the Role:**
As a Senior Advisor - Emergency Management, you will work closely with the National Manager - Emergency Management (Auckland) on an ambitious work programme.
Your ability to establish positive, consultative style working relationships with people at all levels is a key success factor for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the development, implementation, and embedding of the Ministry's incident and emergency management arrangements.
• Collaborate with managers and senior leaders to ensure effective planning and response to potential incidents.
• Test plans with business groups to ensure they have been properly socialized and referred to in response to potential incidents.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and build people capability to respond effectively.
**Requirements:**
• Extensive experience in emergency and incident management, including certification and/or training in this area (e.g., CBCI, CIMS training, EM qualification).
• Superior relationship management, influencing, and problem resolution skills.
• Sound understanding of New Zealand's National Security System.
• Demonstrable experience of managing significant programmes of work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including analytical thinking and idea expression.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels within the organization, including with senior management.
