**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Education Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in strengthening educational performance in schools and kura, with a particular focus on Maori-medium kura across Tai Tokerau. Your expertise will be instrumental in improving attendance and achievement through a knowledge-rich curriculum grounded in the science of learning.
As a Senior Education Advisor, you will work closely with the education sector to implement government priorities and strategies. This includes communicating these priorities effectively, identifying and providing implementation support, tracking progress, and reporting on outcomes. You will also work with schools, kura, and whanau to ensure students are engaged in education and utilizing the suite of supports and interventions to advance attendance and achievement outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement projects to improve educational performance
- Provide expert advice on education policy and strategy
- Work collaboratively with schools, kura, and whanau to enhance student engagement and achievement
- Contribute to the development of education priorities and policies
**Requirements:**
- Tertiary qualification in education or leadership, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with student achievement data
- Experience in developing and implementing projects
- In-depth knowledge of Tikanga Maori and fluency in Te Reo Maori (written and spoken)
- Understanding of education systems in New Zealand and relevant education legislation
