We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Practitioner to join our team at the University of Waikato.
About the Role:This part-time position involves working closely with schools, principals, and teachers to implement and promote Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) Restorative Practice across the Taranaki/Manawatu/Wanganui region.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver comprehensive training and ongoing professional development support to school leaders and teachers, focusing on effective implementation of PB4L Restorative Practice.
- Foster a culture of successful learning by promoting the use of the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC), Te Whariki, and other relevant frameworks in educational settings.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the NZC and its historical context, as well as the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Provide expertise and support to schools in developing and implementing policies, resources, and initiatives that promote Māori success and address system challenges.
- A postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in education or a related field.
- Current registration and practising certificate as a teacher in New Zealand.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of restorative practice, including its application in educational settings.
- Proven track record of success as a professional development facilitator, with a focus on impactful and sustainable change.
- Experience in school leadership or a similar role, with a strong understanding of educational systems and structures.
