Job Description:
The Communications Data Technician will play a key role in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications/data cabling related projects and customer services within the Communications Department of Aotea Electric Southern Ltd. This includes developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients, trades staff, and contractors, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Plan, install, and maintain telecommunications and data cabling systems.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, trades staff, and contractors.
- Evaluate and report on project performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Building Act and Electrical Regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of labour requirements, timekeeping, and H&S audits.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- New Zealand Electrical Registration (desired).
- Accreditation in Copper or Fibre (desired).
- Experience with Fluke Testers, OTDR, and MOE ICT Cabling Accreditation (desired).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
