Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Health New Zealand, Te Toka Tumai Auckland. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and busy environment, providing laboratory services for 3 national programmes.

About the Department
The Specialist Chemical Pathology department is responsible for providing laboratory services for various programmes, including Bowel Screening, Newborn Screening, and Antenatal Screening. The department encompasses Special Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Trace Metals, and Chromatography areas. As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will be working in the Chromatography and Special Biochemistry areas, but may also be required to work in other sections of the department.

Main Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality laboratory services for the above-mentioned programmes
* Work collaboratively with the team to achieve strict turnaround times and quality requirements
* Develop and maintain excellent organisational, computer, and communication skills
* Possess attention to detail, excellent time management, accuracy, and ability to work as part of a team
* Stay up-to-date with new techniques and methodologies

Requirements
* Current annual practicing certificate and registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Experience with automated and manual methodologies and specialised techniques
