About the Role

The Capital & Coast District Health Board is seeking a skilled mental health professional to fill an Intake Clinician position within our Infant, Child, Adolescent and Family Service (ICAFS) team.

This role involves assessing and processing referrals, triaging directly, referring to outside agencies, and maintaining workflow amongst the team. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical knowledge in working with children, families, and understanding how to assess and treat complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing and processing referrals for the ICAFS service
  • Triage assessments and providing tangible outcomes
  • Collaborating with the wider team and services to provide high-quality care
  • Identifying and managing risk in a fast-paced environment
  • Making independent safe clinical decisions

Requirements

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist
  • Experience in completing mental health assessments and providing therapeutic interventions
  • Knowledge of working with trauma, neurodiversity, and challenging family systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
