Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Regional Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at the Mason Clinic. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical and psychiatric care to patients with complex mental health needs.
Your primary responsibilities will include assessing and diagnosing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination. You will also be involved in teaching and training students and junior staff, as well as contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Fellowship or Membership of a relevant professional organization (e.g., Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists)
- Experience working in forensic psychiatry or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively in a multicultural environment
