Job Description
You will be based from either Wellington or Palmerston North, and as our Account Manager for the Lower North Island region (including Wellington, Manawatu, Taranaki and Hawkes Bay), you'll be the driving force behind our sales and growth strategy in the region.
Main areas of responsibility will include:
- Own regional KPIs—sales volumes, margins, pricing, and customer satisfaction.
- Growing market share and making healthy margins through effective sales strategies.
- Nurturing and growing customer and supplier relationships that skyrocket value for everyone involved.
- Staying ahead of the competition by spotting new business opportunities and feeding top-tier intel to the team.
- Collaborating with our Specification team and helping drive PCC's overall sales strategy, making Fletcher Steel the name everyone trusts.
Requirements
You'll need:
- Sales experience in manufacturing, construction, or a related field.
- Experience in managing large, high-value accounts and navigating complex negotiations.
- The ability to travel 1-3 nights per week away from home.
- Business-savvy with sharp financial and commercial acumen.
- Top-notch communication skills, who thrives in high-pressure environments and is always ready to tackle challenges.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to ask the right questions, listen, and provide innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of technical sales and the ability to interpret construction/building plans.
- A natural relationship builder—your networking skills are legendary.
