About the Role
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department team at Wellington Regional Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced advanced practice nurse to lead and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. As a key member of our ED team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, managing patient flow, and contributing to the development of best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced, comprehensive care for patients in the emergency setting
- Perform assessments, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with MDTs as applicable
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to manage patient flow efficiently
- Ensure the highest level of care and safety for all patients
- Utilise advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking to make informed, timely decisions
About You
We are looking for a recognised advanced practice nurse who has a passion for ongoing learning and development with the ability to share, support and develop the practice of others. The successful applicant will have proven advanced emergency nursing expertise, be highly organised with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and reflection.
