About the Role: An experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) care is sought to join our Neurology Department as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This senior role offers an exciting opportunity to become the clinical nursing lead for this area, working closely with senior medical staff and a small team of Registered Nurses.
Main Responsibilities:
- To develop services for people with multiple sclerosis and facilitate the assessment, planning, prescription, and delivery of care to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- To provide expert information, counselling, education, and practical support for individuals with MS, their families, and staff.
- To serve as a link between hospital, community services, and the voluntary sector, influencing the development of knowledge, research, ideas, and work practices.
- To contribute to the growth of the Region through specialist expertise, providing valuable support and education to new and existing staff and nursing students.
Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will require motivation, excellent clinical assessment, education, and communication skills, in addition to extensive clinical experience and expert nursing knowledge.
About the Service: The MS service is part of the Neurology Department at Christchurch Hospital and is primarily an outpatient-based service.
