Working with us not only means getting unlimited opportunities to develop yourself and your career but being part of a community and company culture that's passionate about putting people first.About The Role - Te mahiExciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Restaurant and Bar Manager at Hiku Kaikoura, a brand new stylish waterfront restaurant, bar and conference facility.We are looking for someone with energy, drive and personality to lead and inspire the food and beverage team in delivering exceptional customer experiences.This is a hands-on leadership role that requires the ability to remain calm under pressure whilst leading a busy food and beverage team to ensure the restaurant delivers great customer dining experiences.
You will run a well-organized service team, and be fully conversant with Sale of Liquor responsibilities.
We appreciate and value every one of our team members, and the person in this position will demonstrate true leadership skills by encouraging and supporting the team in day-to-day operation.You will have a good understanding of budgets, P&Ls and managing financials.Responsibilities | Nga haepapaManagement and leadership of the food & beverage service outlets – including the restaurant, bar and conference.Lead and develop the team in service standards, creating a positive and enjoyable team environment.Managing conferencing and events.Ensure all team members deliver a high level of service at all times.Ordering of beverage and other stock; maintaining a sound knowledge for purchasing levels and stock control.Be pro-active in controlling wage costs, being fully aware of forecasted business and targeted profitability whilst maintaining quality and service standards.Uphold Host Responsibility and Duty Managers Licence.Ensuring highest possible standard of hygiene.Collaboration with the marketing department to enhance food and beverage revenue.RequirementsAbout you | Ko koe teneiMinimum of 3-5 years food and beverage service management in modern, successful restaurants and bars.Business savvy; understanding current restaurant and market trends.Experienced bartender and barista, ideally with excellent knowledge of local wines, beers and cocktail preparation.Event and conference management exposure.Strong communication and leadership skills.A solid understanding of managing costs.Current General Managers Certificate.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail; quality service delivery.Ability to motivate and lead a team, embracing a team spirit.Experience problem solving and responding to customer enquiries and complaints.Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.Valid working rights to work in NZ.BenefitsHe kura te tangata - We are all valuedAs an Employer of Choice, we offer great employee benefits like life insurance, outstanding health and wellbeing programmes and discounts on hotels, restaurants, bars and spas across our network - not just for you, but in some cases your friends and family tooFantastic employee discounts at our hotels, restaurants and spas across New Zealand.Kaikoura has an attractive work-life balance, with close proximity to the sea and marine activities.
