The Allied Health Expert,Physiotherapy - Trauma will: * Enhance and develop physiotherapy clinical knowledge within the trauma specialty, particularly in cardiothoracics * Maintain advanced clinical, cultural and professional standards and competencies across the trauma specialty * Evaluate clinical practice through reflection, audit and outcome measures to continually improve the physiotherapy service to patients and whānauAn Allied Health Expert is expected to spend a significant amount oftime within the clinical practice pillar, although this role will also havetime dedicated to teaching, leadership, service improvement and research ( for more information referto the Statement of Accountability by clicking on the position description button).
The clinical workload will primarily be inthe specialty of cardiothoracics, although opportunities to work in a differentclinical area may be possible.In this role, you will beresponsible for: * Providing expert clinical and professional practice and optimising the model of care * Assisting the Clinical Manager in leading service planning and delivery * Providing clinical leadership and enhancing the culture of excellence * Assisting the Clinical Manager with workforce management * To lead and maintain a high-quality service deliveryYou will be required to be contribute to the weekend and on-callrosters.About YouWe are seeking a senior Physiotherapist with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience to join the leadership team.
Your skillset and interests will include: * Experienced in optimal management of a clinical case load * An awareness of the application of research and innovation to improve clinical practice and service delivery models * Demonstrated constructive problem solving, negotiation and advocacy skills * Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reoMāori OR a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of yourlearning and growth * Self-motivated,independent, with a high level of initiative * Excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skills * You must be a member of Physiotherapy New Zealand or willing to join * Registration with NZ Physiotherapy Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate is essentialWorkingfor Health New ZealandHealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is - the weaving of wellnesses.
