The Allied Health Expert, Physiotherapy - Trauma will:Enhance and develop physiotherapy clinical knowledge within the trauma specialty, particularly in cardiothoracics.Maintain advanced clinical, cultural, and professional standards and competencies across the trauma specialty.Evaluate clinical practice through reflection, audit, and outcome measures to continually improve the physiotherapy service to patients and whanau.An Allied Health Expert is expected to spend a significant amount of time within the clinical practice pillar, although this role will also have time dedicated to teaching, leadership, service improvement, and research.
The clinical workload will primarily be in the specialty of cardiothoracics, although opportunities to work in a different clinical area may be possible.In this role, you will be responsible for:Providing expert clinical and professional practice and optimizing the model of care.Assisting the Clinical Manager in leading service planning and delivery.Providing clinical leadership and enhancing the culture of excellence.Assisting the Clinical Manager with workforce management.Leading and maintaining a high-quality service delivery.You will be required to contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters.About YouWe are seeking a senior Physiotherapist with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience to join the leadership team.
Your skillset and interests will include:Experience in optimal management of a clinical case load.An awareness of the application of research and innovation to improve clinical practice and service delivery models.Demonstrated constructive problem solving, negotiation, and advocacy skills.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori OR a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Self-motivated, independent, with a high level of initiative.Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.You must be a member of Physiotherapy New Zealand or willing to join.Registration with NZ Physiotherapy Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
