The Mexican Cafe has been on the Auckland Scene for the last 41 years and has seen more than 3 million customers walk through its doors.We're seeking the services of a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie.
This position will suit a chef with a passion for food and a love for the hospitality industry.
A Chef who wants to work in a great kitchen and be directly involved with the running and direction of an iconic Mexican Cafe.We are looking for a chef who has worked their way up from Commis, plied their trade for years, and worked in some good quality kitchens.
We are looking for a chef who wants to take another giant leap forward in a Mexican Cafe kitchen.The Chef de Partie will be responsible for overseeing the operation of a particular area of the kitchen in accordance with the guidelines of the Head Chef, ensuring that the highest quality is provided to meet the customer's satisfaction.
The successful candidates will have a passion for food and creating delicious dishes.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for the operation of a specific section of the kitchen.Perform food preparation duties in the kitchen, assisting head chefs to cook some menu items or ingredients for dishes.Ensure that recipes and proportions are followed precisely in order to maintain consistency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.Ensure all equipment and work environments are operational.Provide knowledge and training to junior kitchen team members.Follow protocols to maintain food safety and hygiene standards.Report to the assigned management team in the event that hazards are found that might affect work conditions.Order and keep inventory upon request to ensure seamless operations.Ensure that all workspaces and equipment are in good condition.Maintain interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.Maintain a harmonious relationship between front of house and kitchen staff.Participate in kitchen meetings.Any additional responsibilities that the head chef may reasonably require.Requirements:A Level 3 or 4 New Zealand Certificate in Cookery, or equivalent.Proven experience in a fast-paced environment.Strong personality, high integrity, and excellent culinary skills.Strong work ethic and an attitude to achieve high standards.Completed food safety courses.Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.Ability to work flexible hours, including late evenings and weekends.A can-do attitude and reliability.Applicants must have a current NZ work visa or resident visa.If you are true to your trade, love cooking, and love your job, and want to work with a great team, then send both a cover letter and a copy of your CV to ****** or give a call on 09 373 2311.We would like to thank all applicants in advance for your interest.Mexican Cafe Management
