Gisborne is a friendly, welcoming coastal city with a sunny temperate climate and outstanding beaches with enthusiastic surfers.Working at Health New Zealand - Tairawhiti you will become part of an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed team of health workers, with the bonus of a healthy balanced lifestyle and opportunities for professional development.Tairawhiti has a high Maori population with relatively high levels of airways disease and lung cancer and this role offers considerable opportunity to address inequitable health outcomes in a culturally diverse area.About youYou will require a strong commitment to comprehensive care encompassed within General Internal Medicine or Intensive Care, including full involvement in the acute roster for admission and ongoing care of undifferentiated acute adult hospital presentations.Requirements:Medical degree and relevant board certification in Respiratory and Internal Medicine.Either currently have or be eligible for specialist registration in New Zealand.Experience in acute general medicine or intensive care, preferably at smaller centres.Proficiency in performing bronchoscopies and managing lung cancer referrals.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Commitment to holistic patient care and a collaborative approach to medicine.Committed to clinical excellence in all disciplines; and Senior Medical Staff are encouraged to take part in clinical audits and peer reviews to ensure quality clinical care is provided.As a part of NZ medical registration application, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications.
