In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of 8 direct reports and ensuring the team is effectively managing the end-to-end progression of complaints, Mandatory Reports, and self-reports across the Council's disciplinary processes.You will also work across all functions within the Professional Responsibility team, including investigation and legal, to ensure those teams are well-supported to undertake their work effectively.He korero e pa ana ki i a koe | About you:The successful candidate will be a highly organised and strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills.
You'll need to be able to work effectively 'in the business' – helping support and manage around 700 cases as well as being able to focus 'on the business' to identify improvements to help get the right balance between efficiency and effective outcomes for all stakeholders.
You will have a proven track record of managing operational teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.You will ideally have a strong understanding of the education sector and a commitment to our mission of strengthening the mana of teaching, so teachers can change lives.At times, you will be required to travel within Aotearoa to attend hearings and to meet with members of the profession.
You will need to hold a New Zealand full and clean drivers license.To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally come with the following attributes:Relevant tertiary qualificationMinimum 5 years' experience in an operations team leader roleMinimum 5 years' experience of people management including coaching and supervision5 years' experience leading process improvement, implementation, and change in a complex operating environmentExperience of working in the education sector or a regulatory body in a disciplinary process contextStrong competency of Tikanga, Te Ao Maori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Te Reo Maori would be an advantageKa pehea koe ka tono mai | How to apply:Please hit apply now to apply for this role.
