Casual Application Closes 27 Oct 2024 Hawkes Bay - Hastings Healthcare Support Worker Te Waiorua, Flaxmere, Hastings Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is seeking casual Mental Health Support employees / Kaimanaaki to join our dedicated team providing high quality residential care for tangata whaiora in our community-based rehabilitation and respite homes.
TToH is a whanau focused, values-based organisation based in Hastings.
Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whanau across Hawke's Bay for over 39 years.
Te Waiorua is our low to medium Mental Health Residential and Respite service.
We have 3 residential homes based in Flaxmere, Hastings providing support to Tane, Wahine and Respite care.
We have small numbers of residents in clean, tidy, comfortable homes providing structure and support with daily living to our whaiora.
This is a 24 hour / 7 day a week service.
Our permanent employees work 8 hours shifts, rostered over 7 days.
Our shifts are 8am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am and 12am to 8am.
We are looking to add to our casual Kaimanaaki pool, to support our permanent employees by providing cover for shifts and support for the team.
To be suitable for this role you will have: A Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health Support Work or Health and Wellbeing OR Level 4 Certificate in Hauora Experience in a Mental Health or Aged Care or Disability Care service Experience giving medication and understand the 5 R's of Medication competency Current First Aid Certificate if preferable (or we will arrange this for you) A current, clean, full Driver's Licence and safe driving skills Flexible and able to adapt and work in with the team Able to cover the at least one of the 8 hours shifts i.e.
Day, Evening or Wake over To be successful you would need to be able to complete a Physical Functional Health Assessment and Police Vetting.
