On behalf of Nodi Handmade Rugs and Carpet, The Pond Recruitment is looking for a proven senior operations professional to join our client's growing and ambitious business, designers, and producers of naturally sourced, handcrafted rugs and carpets. This is a leadership role working directly with Olivia Moon, a talented founder and CEO who has built a rocket ship brand and company with big growth plans in the next 5 years. You'll play a critical part in growing this brand in new markets and categories, always delivering on Nodi's promise to enrich and elevate people's lives by creating a natural place of connection between people and their everyday living and working environments.
With customers searching for design-led and naturally sourced interior products for their fashionable homes, retail spaces, hotels or restaurants, this role will suit someone with a strong commercial or personal connection to the world of quality products, interiors, design, even architecture. Your connection or passion for this space must be underpinned by a highly disciplined and results-driven operations career. Specifically, the sourcing and manufacturing of quality products, partnered with the operational side of importing and delivering these products to market effectively and efficiently. You'll be able to confidently speak to examples in your career that directly contributed to meeting critical operational business goals.
Reporting directly to the CEO and leading an existing team of two, this Head of Operations position will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of Nodi's business, specifically manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality control, and inventory management. A pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, optimising production processes, and leading the business toward achieving strategic objectives. Your leadership and management expertise will drive the operational excellence that supports Nodi's growth and profitability targets.
You will also play a crucial part in the nationwide launch of a new, yet piloted category, of high-end carpet to the NZ market. This evolved offering brings with it an entirely new set of operational procedures and systems that will need to be built, tested and rolled out from scratch. An exciting and gritty program of work that will directly contribute to the business's growth goals.
The breakdown We are looking for an operations expert with: Minimum 8 years total commercial experienceMinimum of 4 years of experience in operations management with expertise in inventory forecasting, controls, and reportingExperience leading and guiding a business through a period of operational growth and transformation would be advantageousProficient in using ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis toolsSome key responsibilities are: Lead and manage the operations team to ensure that all operational goals are met, including product quality, delivery timelines, cost reduction, and inventory levelsDevelop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's objectives and market demandBuild and execute effective and accurate inventory planning and purchasing strategies supported by appropriate systems to manage inventory levels efficientlyOptimise supply chain processes to ensure efficient material flow, reduce lead times, and improve cost-effectivenessManage key external supplier relationships and measure service quality, i.e. warehousing and logistics suppliersCollaborate with the sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and ensure inventory availabilityImplement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise costsEnsure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety guidelinesDevelop and monitor operational metrics to assess performance and implement corrective actions when necessaryFoster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and excellence within the operations departmentYou will be someone who… Strikes a balanced blend of strategy and hands-on deliveryFocused multitasker & self-starterThe real deal and able to speak to proven and measurable operational successesWants to be part of best-in-class operation and team on a rapid growth journeyAble to critique and be critiquedHas a voice and is not afraid to share it in a proactive wayThe reward Salary range of $140k - $180k per annum + KiwiSaverJoin the Senior Leadership TeamInternational travel (optional but available for go-getters)Central Auckland location (city fringe)Apply today If this role sounds like you then apply online or e-mail Recruitment Director Will Gregory directly: ****** with a brief summary of why you may be interested in this position & a copy of your CV.
