About the role: We are a leading manufacturer of plastic products, including a range of food-grade storage containers and drink bottles sold within New Zealand and exported overseas.
Our manufacturing facility, based near Auckland Airport, offers a clean and modern work environment.
We are looking to employ an experienced Tool & Die Maintenance who will work in our own in-house toolroom where we build and maintain all our injection moulding tools.
This role is also responsible for servicing tools and supporting production with any breakdowns.
This is a 45 hour per week role.
What will you do?
Strip, clean and service a wide range of injection moulds, which includes, standard injection moulding, blow moulding and 2 shot moulding.
Laser weld part lines/damage areas.
Polishing surfaces.
Manual milling, turning and spark eroding (die sinking).
Construct jigs as required for QC purposes.
Basic electrical wiring.
Assembly of new tooling during busy periods.
General machine maintenance.
What are we looking for?
Minimum 3 years' experience of Toolmaking or tooling maintenance.
Relevant qualification (Fitter/Turner/Toolmaker or other relevant maintenance support).
Experience and knowledge of machinery would be an advantage.
Knowledge and use of an overhead crane.
Knowledge of different steels/materials.
Some moulding knowledge is preferable.
Current hoist license for counterbalance (would be an advantage).
