Senior Quantity Surveyor (Wanaka based opportunity)GLASSHOUSE RECRUITMENT has partnered with CALDER GROUP in Wanaka to secure a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR to join their team
This will be a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success of the company and provides a great opportunity for someone looking to accelerate their career.Calder Group is a well-established family-run design and build company based in stunning Wanaka.They are leaders in commercial construction from concept to completion.They are experiencing considerable growth and are securing exciting projects in the region.Working in a small team, the Calder Group are a friendly bunch who are driven and energetic, striving to exceed the expectations of their clients.Position Overview:The Calder Group is currently seeking an enthusiastic Senior Quantity Surveyor with previous estimating experience to join their main contracting team, for a challenging role with a wide variety of commercial responsibilities.
This will be a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success of the company and provides a great opportunity for someone looking to accelerate their career.
With one direct report, the ideal candidate will be software savvy and proficient in measurement, cost estimation, and quantity surveying.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Construction Estimating:Management, preparation, coordination, and delivery of:Tender documentsSoQ's in line with standard methods of measurementAccurate cost estimates utilizing cost planning, elemental, and first principle estimating techniquesCost-X rate and phraseology libraries (training will be provided)Post-Contract Quantity Surveying:Materials procurement and sublettingSubcontract and Head Contract AdministrationClient claim and subcontract payment schedule processingCost control and variation managementMonthly cost reportingTo be considered for this role, you will ideally have:A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction management or related fieldMinimum 5 years' experience with a commercial main contractor or sizeable subcontractorIntermediate to advanced in using Cost X Measurement and estimating functionsExperience and understanding of NZ Standards methods of measurementExperience and understanding of NZ3910/3916 and Master Builders SA 2017Effective communication and negotiation skillsBenefits:Competitive remuneration based on your experiencePrivate Healthcare for you and your family (under 21 yrs old)Relocation assistance on offer for the right candidateFree access to EAP servicesOpportunity for career advancement and professional developmentOngoing training and developmentPlease note that applications will only be considered via Glasshouse Recruitment.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a quantity surveyor?How many years of estimating experience do you have?Do you have experience preparing and submitting tenders?How many years' experience do you have with contracts administration?How many years' experience do you have in the construction industry?What's your expected annual base salary?
