General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeSt Mark's Church School is an Anglican Preschool and Primary school strategically located in Central Wellington, opposite the iconic Basin Reserve cricket ground. We pride ourselves on our Anglican values and our longstanding tradition of preparing young minds for future success in a co-educational setting that celebrates both boys and girls.The Role:Reporting to the Board, this senior leadership position will provide commercial leadership to our school community through:Strategic financial management and business planningLeadership of budget development and monitoringPerformance and financial reporting to senior leadership and BoardOversight of regulatory and legal compliance, including health and safetyManagement of procurement and contract negotiationsLeadership of property development and maintenance programmesManagement of school services including catering and facilities hireTeam leadership of finance administration, payroll and HR professionalsDevelopment of commercial opportunities to enhance school revenueImplementation of cost efficiency initiativesRisk management and compliance oversightDevelop and organize administrative systemsFocus on IT processes like enrolment and financial systems; experience or understanding in implementing and managing these systems is preferredThe Person:We're looking for the following attributes, in our ideal candidate:Significant experience in a senior leadership role, ideally in business/commercial management, property development or general managementTertiary qualification - CAANZ membership would be an advantageProven ability to effectively lead and develop a teamStrong commercial acumen and business strategy skillsInnovative and strategic thinking with a willingness to take a "hands on" approachExceptional planning and organizational skillsHigh attention to detail in delivery of quality support and adviceStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience in managing stakeholder relationshipsEmpathy for Anglican special character educationUnderstanding of the education sector (desirable)This is a pivotal and influential role in the school, and there will be opportunities for personal and professional growth.Please note only those with the legal right to work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.
