We are looking to expand our team with an experienced Contract Manager to lead projects and drive operational excellence.Stringfellows has undergone sustained growth over the past five years and this position would be best suited to a candidate with a strong construction background that can help establish systems to ensure the company maintains and enhances its reputation.
Experience in either Civil or General Construction is a necessity.As a Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful delivery of projects.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
This role requires strong people management skills and the ability to drive productivity, safety, and efficiency across the project stages.Key responsibilities include:Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead and oversee the delivery of civil projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.Team Management: Manage and lead Foremen, Supervisors, and Subcontractors to ensure maximum productivity, quality, and safety on-site.
Provide guidance, leadership, and support to the team.Programming & Planning: Utilise your expertise in programming and planning to manage the project timeline, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated efficiently.Health & Safety Management: Maintain the standard for health and safety on site, engage in promoting a positive health and safety culture.Contract & Project Management: Oversee contracts, have a strong understanding of NZS3910.Technical Skills: Be involved with problem solving construction issues and being able to discuss technical queries with client representatives.Key skills and experience:To be successful in this role you will be highly motivated, with proven experience in managing / overseeing projects and people, specifically in construction.Experience: 3+ years' experience in a similar role or as a site engineer looking to take the next step.Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and leading teams, including Foremen, Supervisors, and Subcontractors.
Strong ability to drive productivity and performance on-site.Project Management: Ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time.Knowledge of NZS 3910: Knowledge of the NZS 3910 standard for construction contracts, with experience managing contracts and project documentation.Technical Skills: Knowledge of programming and planning, with a good understanding of resource allocation and scheduling.
Knowledge of civil construction disciplines such as earthworks, drainage and pavement.Communication Skills: The ability to manage, motivate and lead staff, from site teams to supervisors.
