About the RoleThe role of an Associate Charge Nurse Manager/Associate Team Leader for the Adult Community Mental Health Sector: Works within a multi-disciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical roles) in the Greater Hamilton community that fosters a culture of mutual respect, safe practice and acknowledges contributions from both cultural and clinical perspectives.Is challenging, diverse and requires creativity, reliability and exceptional organisational skills.Engages and works collaboratively with all stakeholders, especially tangata whaiora and whanau.Provides clinical leadership to the team as delegated by the Charge Nurse Manager/Team Leader.
Key responsibilities of the role: Mental Health and Addictions Service in the Waikato are about to embark on a transformation change to be a Maori led service.
You will need to be able to embrace these changes and to support the implementation of a Maori led service within the team and the wider service.Work with the Charge Nurse Manager/Team Leader to support and lead a well-functioning mental health and addictions community team.To be committed to understanding the needs of the communities that we work in and building networks within them.To have sound decision making skills especially in high pressure situations.
About the Service We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu - Waikato.
We provide specialist services for tangata whaiora who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties.
We strongly encourage family/ whanau involvement in the recovery journey of their loved ones.
As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday and we work with community partners across the Waikato.
About you Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.A relevant graduate qualification and registration with relevant professional body.Experience with community networking and managing inter-sectoral relationships/partnerships.Have a passion for making a difference to the lives of tangata whaiora and whanau.Display initiative and resourcefulness that will allow you to navigate the variety of challenges you could face.
