We are looking for an exceptional people leader and systems thinker with a strong operational background to take on a critical role in Wellington's emergency management leadership team.

This role is full-time, and fixed term for two years, based in Thorndon, Wellington, with travel across the region.About the role:As the Manager - Operational Readiness and Response, your focus will be on building, leading, and supporting high-performing teams to maintain the region's emergency preparedness.
You'll be responsible for developing and implementing training, operational systems, and response strategies, ensuring that when disaster strikes, our people are ready to act.You will also serve as the Group Controller, a statutory leadership role under the CDEM Act 2002.
In an emergency, you will lead, coordinate, and inspire multi-agency response teams, making decisive calls in high-stakes situations and ensuring a unified, effective response across the region.This is your opportunity to lead from the front, ensuring that our region is ready to respond to any emergency.
