Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director, Procurement (Category Management and Special Projects)The Division comprises three functional teams in the domain of Governance, Operations Procurement, and Category Management & Special Projects overseeing all procurement policies, systems, and activities.Job ResponsibilitiesRun the Category Management and Special Projects functional team.Translate company priorities to the team to set commodity strategies for the division with analytical insights and macroeconomic trends.Convey strategies to stakeholders and management to build consensus.Foster effective collaboration and ensure strong communication lines with key stakeholders and management.Lead the team in implementing initiatives aligned with strategies to maintain an expert team for delivering successful solutions.Develop and implement best-in-class commodities management strategies and tools (e.g., contract terms/models) that will influence changes beyond the organization to specific sectors or industries.Guide the team to build specialist/domain knowledge for different categories, preferably purchases under IT, staff welfare, office supplies, courses, etc.Work with stakeholders on critical projects to understand business priorities and guide the team to propose and execute operational strategies with consideration to risk mitigation, proper governance, cost management, sustainability, and timelines.Handle the first line of escalations and exception handling of critical projects.Monitor and track the progress of the implementation of strategies, contracts, and projects.Job RequirementsMinimum 8 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in category management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.Strong commercial acumen, situation appraisal, and analytical skills; ability to use intelligence from data for strategies and decision-making.Resourceful individual with active listening skills to gather information and anticipate next steps.High-achieving, independent individual with clear communication skills for stakeholder persuasion and management reporting.Good project management skills to deliver results with given resources and timelines.Strong understanding of contracting principles, capable of devising different contract solutions aligned with business needs and market practices.Good awareness of industry best practices and available tools and systems, preferably in SAP S4 HANA and ARIBA.Coaching and people development skills.The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
