Based at our Lincoln Campus in Canterbury.This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to use their financial acumen and leadership skills to improve business performance and enhance the impact being made by the Corporate Finance team.
As Financial Accountant your role will have primary responsibility for fixed assets and capital expenditure.
You will also support the team to cover the accounting responsibilities for AgResearch's subsidiaries, associates and assisting the Group Finance Manager to meet requirements for all statutory reporting, group management reporting, treasury and taxation.
This role works closely with the Business Planning and Performance team, as well as assisting staff in other groups around the organisation.Minimum guaranteed hours: 40 per weekWhat you will be doingManaging fixed assets, depreciation and capital expenditure processesPreparing depreciation and capital expenditure forecasts and budgetsSupporting capital expenditure business case preparationPreparing monthly financial reporting and assisting with year-end Group Consolidated Financial StatementsProviding accounting support to corporate areas of the businessYour ideal backgroundQualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent.Experience with fixed assets and capital expenditure.A strong understanding of accounting standards, processes and financial analysis.Business analysis and project management skills.Ability to balance conflicting demands and achieve results.Effective communication skills on both an oral and written level.A keen attitude and motivation to work in an innovative environment.Ability to work autonomously while being part of a collaborative team.Demonstrates safe workplace behaviour by taking all practicable steps to ensure own and other's safety in the workplace.We encourage applications from candidates with an understanding of or a willingness to develop their capability in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Maori, and/or te reo Maori.BenefitsAgResearch provides a diverse range of benefits including extensive flexible working options that help employees balance their own lifestyle and needs with their work commitments.This role will suit a passionate, talented and collaborative person who is motivated to drive their career forward within this vital New Zealand organisation.
