An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader / Principal Planning Consultant to join our Auckland Planning team.
Working alongside another Team Lead and reporting into the Auckland Planning Manager, you will become a pivotal member of the team.
Providing pastoral care, development support, and leadership to eight direct reports.
You will also operate as a Principal Consultant, with a focus on client relationships, project delivery and programme management for a key fuel industry client.
Responsibilities

Providing leadership to your team, enabling them to achieve excellent client outcomes.
This will include pastoral care and career development to a team that will consist of Graduates through to Principal Consultants.
Support business development to ensure our business, teams, and people continue to grow, thrive, and achieve performance metrics.
Support the Planning team to achieve financial targets and play a key role in achieving office specific targets.
Collaborate with the Auckland Planning Manager, the other Auckland Team Lead, Technical Directors and Project Managers to manage resources and meet deadlines.
Ensuring efficient process around project management, utilisation and other measures of success in collaboration with the Auckland Planning Manager.
Consistently meet your own utilisation targets and deliverables, as well as supporting the team in this.
Becoming a trusted client advisor on all aspects of the planning process.
Key to the delivery and management of policy and consenting projects for the fuel industry client and others.
Delivering the best possible outcome for clients with a focus on quality.
Undertaking technical and peer reviews of reports.
Establishing strong professional working relationships with clients and the team across SLR.
Skills and experience

A professional qualification in resource management planning or other relevant degree.
Obtained or working towards full NZPI membership.
15+ years' experience in planning and resource management.
Experience as a mentor and coach to other consultants.
Strong client relationship management skills.
Experience within the fuel industry, or wider infrastructure sector, is beneficial but not essential.
Demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
Detail focused and ability to complete tasks on time and to budget.
Effective communication with colleagues and clients.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to support building our client base.
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables on competing timeframes.
A clear, concise and professional writing style.
