Our ANZ Aviation team is looking to recruit a Principal Civil Engineer to join our New Zealand business, within our Auckland Transportation team. In this role you will deliver civil aviation and roading projects for our international and regional commercial airports, our Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces’ portfolio of airfields, as well as our Transportation clients.
The role will require experience in one of the following disciplines (or a combination of):
- Construction management and monitoring
- Project Management
- Design Management
It is also expected that there will be regular contact with AECOM’s clients and construction partners, as well as a requirement to be involved in business development and winning work across ANZ.
**About You**
As a Principal within our business, your ability to take ownership of projects or design packages and drive delivery will ensure project excellence. Being an enthusiastic and passionate team player, you will enjoy contributing to a culture of collaboration and innovation.
As an organised engineer with attention to detail, you will ensure successful delivery of our projects on site. You will be encouraged to use your creativity within company guidelines to ensure we are delivering innovative solutions for our clients while managing risk. Having a broad knowledge and business perspective will help in your ability to influence both technically and commercially in this role.
It is expected that you will have:
- 12+ years’ experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment and use influencing skills to drive initiatives.
- Demonstrated skills in report writing, client interfacing, workshopping and presentations.
- Strong experience in Construction Monitoring and Management, Engineer to the Contract Representative and / or Site Representative experience.
- Project Management and Design Management experience is not essential but preferred.
- Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- ICAO Annex 14 and related ICAO planning and design guidelines.
- NZ CAA Advisory Circular Part 139 (or other equivalent ICAO member states 139 design guidance).
- Relevant US FAA ACs.
- Experience in interfacing with different disciplines; including airfield pavements, drainage, structures, AGL, radio navigational aids, apron inground services, fuel systems, fuel spill interception and floodlighting.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships, gain trust, and support senior leaders in environments with pressing delivery schedules.
- Working experience with aviation clients, airlines and authorities in ANZ and the Pacific would be an advantage.
- This role requires that you to have the ability to travel throughout ANZ and the Pacific as needed.
**Qualifications**
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
