Our team of Health and Safety Business Partners support operational leaders to continuously reduce operational risk and ensure Safe Production.
They are role models with strong networks across the business, who are expected to influence, challenge and act.
This role will support the development of an engaged and high performing workforce, with a strong focus on a positive safety culture.
Being the go-to expert for operation leaders and workers, this role is hands-on, coaching and delivering technical H&S support in a variety of Health and Safety activities from developing risk assessments to completing complex investigations.
About you You will enjoy working in a collaborative team and have a strong focus on continuous improvement.
You will also have excellent communication skills and be strong at maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Minimum five years' experience in Health & SafetyHolds a tertiary qualification in a relevant fieldAccreditation to professional association for Health and Safety practitionersProven experience and success in leading change and driving a positive Health and Safety cultureThe ability to collaborate and influence leaders at all levels, employees, unions and other key stakeholders to ensure the continued improvement in health, safety and learning performanceThe ability to use sound Health and Safety expertise to generate, evaluate and act on options and opportunitiesAnalyses qualitative and quantitative information to draw accurate conclusionsKnowledge of the New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and regulationsSolid understanding and experience leading risk management processesExperience working in a highly unionised environment is advantageousExperience in business improvement frameworks and techniques for developing ongoing productivity and efficiency gainsAbout LPC We are Lyttelton Port Company (LPC), the largest Port in the South Island, committed to Leading the Way for our people and our region.
