Our Youth Speciality Service is the specialist mental health service for 14-18 year old.
Our teams are made up of health professionals who provide a range of specialist mental health services and contribute to care for children and adolescents as well as sub-specialty areas such as maternal and infant mental health, early psychosis service, and addictions.
Your responsibilities will include assessment and treatment while working collaboratively with the primary health sector, education, and NGO sectors.
You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery as well as having a sound understanding of and commitment to biculturalism.
The role may include supporting our rural based clinics by providing Telehealth appointments and clinical support.About YouAs a Consultant Psychiatrist with either Child and Youth Care setting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team.
Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position.
You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism.
Working at a tertiary hospital means that you are contributing to the supervision and training of registrars.You will be required to participate on an on-call roster providing after hours coverage for the Southern region.
Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential, and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council.
