In this role, you will provide Occupational Therapy services to clients within their home environment and occasionally on the Thames Hospital inpatient ward.
Manage your own caseload and waitlist and have a level of autonomy.
You will be collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and work alongside Physiotherapists, Social work, and Allied Health Assistants.
Ideally, candidates will be Enable housing and wheelchair level 1 accredited; however, training will be provided for the successful candidate if required.About the TeamAllied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services.
Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with.
Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.Skills and ExperienceAt least 12 months post-qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process; however, will consider new graduate OTs.Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence-informed practice.Effective time management, prioritisation, and organisation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting.How to ApplyPlease click 'Apply online' or apply via our Waikato Careers Website.
