About the Role As an Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) you will be involved with the management of the Emergency Department (ED) supporting the Nurse Manager and coordinate the day to day operational management of the department and provide clinical leadership and guidance to staff across all shifts.
The ACNM is responsible for assisting with the effective management of ED and will do this by working with the Nurse Manager (NM) to assist with managing and leading the people, systems, processes and resources that facilitate clinically safe, efficient and effective service delivery across ED.
The position is to support the implementation of organisational initiatives and day-to-day management of all nursing areas (people, process, and physical resources), and to ensure a safe patient journey within the emergency department.
The ACNM will assist to provide clinical and professional leadership to the team, developing the nursing service, ensuring quality standards are met and contributing to the strategic direction for ED.
About the Team/Service/ Location We are a level 6 Emergency Service committed to providing acute and emergent care to patients and their families/whanau within a multidisciplinary team.

About you A New Zealand registered nurse, you will have a current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
Additionally, you will bring to this role prior experience in emergency nursing.
A post graduate qualification in nursing, or study towards this is expected.
Awareness of and sensitivity to individual and cultural differences is essential.
Key Responsibilities: * Registered Nurse with current APC and scope appropriate to place of work * Postgraduate Certificate desired, expected to work towards Postgraduate Diploma * Assist in the day-to-day operational management of the Emergency Department, ensuring optimal patient care, efficiency, and safety.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
* Work closely with the Charge Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and maintain best practices in emergency care.
* Support staffing coordination, ensuring adequate coverage and adherence to safety protocols.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies, driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Monitor patient flow, and assist in managing patient care during peak times to ensure timely and effective service.
* Contribute to staff training, professional development, and performance evaluations to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
