In this role, you will provide high-quality support and advice to the Animal Ethics Committee (AEC) and other Research Ethics Committees.
You will maintain regulatory compliance standards and collaborate with the Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) and Biological Safety Officer (BSO) as necessary under the direction of the Head of Research Ethics.Responsibilities include:Provide expert advice on University-specific governance policies, improvements, processes, and systems.Coordinate committee agendas, minutes, adverse event reporting, and support meetings including membership updates.Assist with reviewing AEC applications and making determinations about the amendment pathway.Prepare relevant information and reports required by institutional policies or legislation.This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) on a permanent contract, with a salary range of $96,800 - $119,500 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.Minimum Requirements:Experience leading a research, regulatory assurance, animal ethics, or regulatory compliance team, preferably in animal ethics within a university or relevant organization.Ability to pre-screen research ethics proposals with a focus on animal ethics applications.Strong leadership and mentoring capability.Ability to manage risk to a regulatory team's systems and processes and implement effective strategies.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with experience in performance and service metrics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience conveying complex ideas.Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.Ability to develop and deliver training programmes.High level of computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Ethics RM research ethics management system.How to apply:Applications must be submitted online by the closing date of 21/02/2025.
