Casual position from the beginning of April to the end of June 2025We are looking for three Conservation Field Team members to come to the beautiful Aotea Great Barrier Island and join the teamEnvirokiwi Ltdspecializes in conservation and environmental work on and around Aotea Great Barrier Island; including pest plant and animal work, planting, marine monitoring work, landscaping and other general duties associated with biodiversity, conservation and living sustainably.PLEASE NOTE: This is a commitment to relocating to Aotea Great Barrier Island.
Relocation and accommodation packages offered.About YouRequired Skills & ExperienceGood level of fitness and enjoy working outdoors, in challenging environments, weather conditions and terrains,Valid NZ work permit,Full driving license (NZ class 1),Ability to work and contribute as part of a team,Positive, can-do attitude, flexibility as required, and willingness to learn.
Work with the team to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, tangata whenua, community groups and landowners,Open and honest behavior and attitude.Conservation Field Workers should have experience in or an interest in learning:NZ native plant and insect identification (requires good eyesight),Invasive plant identification within the Auckland Regional Council Pest Management Plan,Dealing positively with 'customers', landowners and contract managers,The handling and use of agrichemicals and/or hazardous substances,An ability to handle conflict situations appropriately,Organisational skills to organise self, work day, resources required and reporting requirementsJob Types: Casual, (permanent roles may be offered)About UsEnvirokiwi delivers a range of services designed to meet the needs of our Island's community and environment.The Envirokiwi staff includes ecologists, project managers, and accomplished field teams.We are passionate about the work we do – completing projects that improve and protect the environment, with a focus on sustainable practices and positive community outcomes.Our staff and field teams are adept to working within isolated and difficult locations and terrain as well as within small communities.
