About the Role Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation is a division of Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha (CDHB) based at Burwood.
The Burwood Physiotherapy Team is made up of 65 Physiotherapists and 15 Physiotherapy Assistants split into 3 teams including a Musculoskeletal team, a Neurology Team, and an Older Persons and Older Persons Mental Health team.
The Physiotherapy team in Surgical Orthopaedics is made up of an Advanced Practitioner and 3 part-time Physiotherapists with a full-time assistant.
The team manages a fast-paced environment with a heavy caseload of primary joint replacements, some trauma, and a variety of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for carrying out effective patient assessments and formulating goal-based treatment plans which facilitate improving function and safe discharges.
This role works Tuesday to Saturday, which means you work 36 hours but get paid for 38 and you get 2.5 days off.
On Saturday, you work with a team including another Physiotherapy colleague and a Physiotherapy Assistant.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out effective patient assessment, evaluation, and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice.Formulating treatment interventions to meet individual needs in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team.Ensuring effective communication with other members of the physiotherapy team and wider MDT team.About You It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate and have a minimum of 18 months experience.

The ability to hit the ground running with the energy and passion to deliver a high standard of care to patients.Great time management skills.The ability to develop a close working relationship with physiotherapy assistants and the wider physiotherapy team.Flexibility and adaptability with an enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline.Flexibility to work in any of our rehabilitation areas depending on need in conjunction with the wider interdisciplinary teams.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.You will either be an existing ENABLE assessor or eligible for registration.It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current practicing certificate to be considered for this role.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
