Te Haeata/The OpportunityTe Puna Aonui is seeking a fixed term (12 months) Principal Advisor – Investment, with exceptional knowledge and understanding of government investment and funding to join a new multi-disciplinary and flexible team.This role will be dedicated to undertaking a baseline review of investment across the family violence and sexual violence system.This is a high profile and important piece of work and forms an integral part of our new Te Aorerekura Action Plan.
It will help us identify how we make effective decisions about where and how Government invests to improve outcomes for victims / survivors and those impacted by violence.Working alongside the Manager for Strategy, Investment and Performance, you will support the effective management and delivery of a baseline review of investment, working with agency partners to identify investments and understand their effectiveness.
This will include designing and managing the process; assisting with analysis of information; providing advice to Managers and senior leaders; and pro-actively managing risks and issues to deliver this high profile and important work.If you are passionate about making a difference and have the skills, we encourage you to apply.
O pukenga/skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will have:relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experiencea minimum of 6 years senior public sector experience with experience in large scale investments and budget initiativesapplied understanding of New Zealand government budget and treasury processesexperience of developing funding strategies and budget bidsfinancial analysis skills e.g.
cost modelling, economic analysis and modellingknowledge of a social investment approachsound planning and organisation, including the ability to prioritise activities and plan to deliver critical milestonesability to actively manage dependencies, risks and issuesability to translate complex information into simple understandable concepts to enable effective decision makingpreparation of reports and advice to senior leaders and Ministers (Briefings, AMs, presentations, dashboards, reports)ability to build strong relationships with stakeholdersan awareness and / or understanding of family violence and sexual violence.

Utu a-tau/SalaryThe appointing salary for this role will be between $128,129 and $179,192 based on skills and experience.
