We're looking for someone with project management, engineering and/or commercial sector experience to join our Climate Change Team in a newly created fixed-term role for 12 months.
The role is full time, based in Wellington with flexible working options.About the role:Climate change is a key area of strategic focus for Greater Wellington, so our advisors work in a supportive environment and cover a broad programme of work summarised in its two ten-point action plans - one organisational and one regional - collectively known as the Climate Emergency Response Programme.Working as part of the Climate Change Team, the Renewable Energy Project Lead will work with the Manager Climate Change to deliver the 'Energy Transformation Initiative' (ETI) stage 1 outcomes of:Investigating the feasibility of the Greater Wellington group of organisations obtaining a power purchase agreement from a provider of new renewable generation.Developing costed investment proposals for solar farms built on suitable land that Greater Wellington owns, and delivery models for this.Developing a policy and delivery approach for including rooftop solar PV on new Greater Wellington-owned buildings.The holder of the role will manage the project including the steering group meetings and reporting, procurement and management of specialist contractors and meetings with possible external providers and partners.Skills and experience required:Relevant tertiary qualification, e.g.
