When you work with us, you'll share our ambition to be a great New Zealand business, and one that's making a strong contribution to the wellbeing of our communities and economy.We have embarked on multiple infrastructure projects around our precinct, making this an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Health, Safety and Well-Being Business Partner to join our dynamic team partnering with our Engineering and Asset Maintenance business.About the rolePartnering with our Engineering Services Team you will bring your Health, Safety & Wellbeing expertise to help us ensure great safety outcomes from design through operational lifecycle.Key responsibilities include:Act as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership team, providing expert guidance on health and safety (H&S) matters.Deliver H&S work plan, aligned with Auckland Airport's overall safety strategy.Promote a culture of proactive risk management and continuous safety improvement.Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for engineering projects, maintenance, and infrastructure works.Lead or support investigations into engineering-related incidents, near misses, and safety breaches.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and airport operations teams to integrate safety into all engineering activities.Champion a people-first mindset across engineering teams and contractors.Prepare H&S performance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.Stay updated on global best practices in health and safety for aviation and engineering industries.Identify and implement new technologies or methodologies to enhance safety performance.What you'll bring to the roleAt Auckland Airport, we are a busy hive of activity, and we are looking for someone who aligns with our values Respectful, Collaborative, We Care, Integrity and Exceptional.
To ensure your success in this role, you will need:Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.5+ years experience in HS&W roles is required, experience specialising in an engineering environment will be extremely valuable.NZISM membership and HASANZ registration desirable.A strong leader and team player, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functional lines.Sound business writing and verbal communication skills.A customer-centric mindset coupled with excellent relationship-building skills.Demonstrated success in influencing change and effecting good outcomes.Ability to think strategically and manage business complexity.Sound working knowledge of relevant legal frameworks in New Zealand.About usFrom the arrival of the Tainui Waka into the Manukau Harbour, Auckland Airport has always been a place of journeys.
