This is an existing role reporting to the Director Programme Delivery and will play a key leadership role within our Council to successfully lead and deliver a variety of externally funded projects, leading our Project Management team. This role is a unique opportunity for an energetic, innovative person to join the CHB Whanau and support the Central Hawke's Bay District Council to THRIVE.About the opportunity:This is a fantastic role that will suit someone who is outcome focused, enjoys a challenge and is able to take the initiative whilst building great relationships with our team and many stakeholders. You will join an established Programme Delivery team with some projects well developed, and some to be developed. You will have the opportunity to utilise your skills and experience to influence and lead Council projects to successful delivery for our community. We are a small council punching above our weight, with a passion to deliver excellence to our communities, recently heralded through our AA council mark rating.About you:As the Principal Project Manager, you will lead a diverse project team to deliver outcomes. You will need to be able to work across projects and develop scope while meeting and exceeding the expectations of stakeholders. You will need to be a self-starter that learns quickly and takes the initiative, you will be customer focused and bring energy to the team.You will have project/programme management experience, with specific expertise in managing community-focused infrastructure projects. You may have a technical background, or you may be a great project/programme manager. Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will be vital in your day-to-day dealings with project teams, consultants, contractors, key stakeholders, community groups, and the public.You will be managing a team of project managers, so having the ability to lead a team and provide direction will be critical to your success.
