The Process & Equipment Engineer (PE) will work to optimise the operations by implementing and maintaining process controls to maximise safety, quality and profitability. You will be focused on business improvement, process technologies and delivering improvements in customer quality and efficiencies.
Scope: Porirua site and adjoining supply chain. Can be requested to provide occasional support to Auckland Sealed Air site.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain a culture of safety first always, including participating in hazard assessments, safety shop floor observations, wearing appropriate PPE, reporting all incidents, near misses and cooperating in accident investigations and supporting procedural updates and implementation where required.Develop processes to be trouble-free and strive to ensure success every time (zero defects, zero unfavourable variances).Troubleshoot technical issues when production and quality experience exhaustion. Support the team with escalated troubleshooting including on more complicated issues and working to analyse and resolve processing problems in a structured manner.Own Loss Analysis of the Line/s and engage the line team in loss analysis, deploying loss elimination targets, and managing loss elimination activities of the line working with the line teams.Through analysis and coordination of wider business resources achieve agreed targets in reduction of waste, yield optimization (end-to-end), efficiencies process improvements, recovery of waste, sustainability improvements etc.Identify process bottlenecks and develop improvements to maximise product yield, minimise operational costs and customer impact.Day-to-day creation and allocation of jobs to Maintenance staff in conjunction with priorities set by Group Maintenance Leader.Using Six Sigma or similar methodology and a close liaison with operations, lead cross-functional teams to deliver results.Backup role for utilities equipment & buildings activities.Write/present/publish reports on findings and outcomes as required to support wider business engagement and improvement.QualificationsEngineering/technical and/or Chemical/plastics degree.Six Sigma training or similar methodology.Knowledge/exposure with Statistical process control (SPC), Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and Root cause analysis (RCA).Ability to participate and manage multiple projects and priorities on an ongoing basis.Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization.Sealed Air is committed to attracting, selecting, and developing talent that reflects the diversity of the communities and customers we serve.
