We are looking for a passionate and motived **Environmental Advisor**, based in Wellington to join our team. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this position will play a key role in providing technical and practical support to the project team in relation to environmental management. Your key focus will be to oversee the environmental performance of the Downer HEB JV and its sub-contractors, maintaining high standards and ensuring all compliance obligations are met. Strong communication and people skills are a must for this role, as you will be working in a collaborative and supportive environment. **About you**:

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline
- 2 years plus experience in a construction environmental advisory role or similar
- Experience with resource consents and compliance processes
- Demonstrable knowledge of key principles such as ecology, noise and vibration management, erosion and sediment control, heritage, hazardous substances and water quality regulation
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and mentoring that empowers others to own and lead a positive environmental cultureAn understanding of, or an appreciation for Tikangi Maori, ensuring our Iwi partners are involved in every step of the environmental control process.
- Good understanding of regional regulatory requirements and relevant legislation
- Experience assisting with the writing and implementation of management plans, technical reports & investigations
- Team player with excellent communication skills
