Farmote Programme Manager

Waikato, New Zealand Gallagher Group Limited Full time

The Farmote System is a unique new way of automatically recording precise, consistent, and reliable pasture data, 24/7.
Founded and developed in New Zealand, the system has been described as "the only technology of its type in the world".
Recently acquired by joint venture partners, Gallagher and Barenbrug, this strategic partnership underscores both companies' commitment to advancing agricultural technology and providing innovative solutions to farmers worldwide.
The Opportunity We've got a rare chance for an ambitious professional to play a hands-on role in integrating Farmote's cutting-edge pasture monitoring system into the extensive product and service offerings of both Gallagher and Barenbrug.
This unique role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced project manager with an engineering background to leverage their skills in leading and coordinating the product and operational readiness of this exciting solution, while advancing their career into a people leadership position.
With a heavy emphasis on working cross-functionally, this role will develop and execute comprehensive project plans across all facets of product and operational readiness.
Farmote is run as a true start-up, with a team of 4 working towards bringing a product to market soon.
The team can leverage resources from two large businesses to help with this enormous challenge, but we need a Project Manager who is comfortable being very hands-on.
The Fit We're looking for someone who's up for a challenge and can bring a smart, start-up mindset to this new role.
You will likely have held project management or similar roles in an engineering environment, so you will have an appreciation for product management and how to navigate manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution needs and relationships.
You will be known for bringing a calm head, lots of smarts, and a toolkit that can create structure and clarity across lots of moving parts.
If you thrive in roles with a healthy dose of ambiguity and where you can be inventive and pragmatic to get an outcome, then this might be your sweet spot.
You will also have:
Tertiary Qualification or equivalent in Project Management and Engineering fields.Proven experience working in a start-up or similar dynamic workplace environment.Strong understanding of project management methodologies.Proven ability to manage relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners effectively.Knowledge of manufacturing processes (across hardware and software products).Experience or appreciation for product lifecycle management, including strategy, development, and launch. The successful candidate will ideally be located in or around Hamilton; the role will be based out of the Gallagher offices and may require some domestic or international travel.
Why Farmote? At Farmote, you get the best of both worlds: the thrill of working in a start-up environment, but with the backing and career pathways of two established and highly respected global businesses of Gallagher and Barenbrug.
You'll be joining a future-focused team with a supportive work culture.
We also offer:
Competitive salary + attractive bonus opportunities.Flexible working hours.Regular team catch-ups + training and development.Apply now to be part of history as we get ready to take Farmote to the world.
We will contact candidates after 8 January 2025.
