About the roleCobcraft Manufacturing Limited is seeking a Kiln and Furnace Building Assistant to join our small team in Yaldhurst, Canterbury.
This is a full-time position, and you will play a crucial role in assisting in the construction and maintenance of our industrial kilns and furnaces.
Whilst this is not a recognised New Zealand Apprenticeship, the successful application will play a crucial part in production and will be able to learn the complete process of manufacturing and designing electric Kilns and Furnaces.What you'll be doingAssisting in the manufacturing, assembly, repair, and servicing of our industrial and domestic kilns, furnaces, and associated equipmentCollaborating with the production team to ensure seamless production of kilns and furnacesAssisting in the manufacturing of our Pottery and glass-shaping stainless-steel toolsAdhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulationsWhat we're looking forStrong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow instructionsExcellent eye for detail and a desire to seek perfection in every task completedSelf-motivated and excellent time management to seek out new tasks to complete each dayGreat communication skills and a desire to ensure clear communication is maintained at all times in productionPhysically fit and able to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a dayFamiliarity and safe use of power tools, welding, grinding, drilling and a willingness to learn new techniquesAbility to work effectively and efficiently as part of a small teamCommitment to workplace safety and a proactive approach to identifying and reducing risksClean driver's licence and Clean MOJ checkDesirable skills and experience but not essentialFamiliarity with the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment, such as kilns and furnacesBrick handling, including grading, shaping, cutting and mortaringHandling of insulation materials such as Fibre glass, Ceramic fibre and ceramic Fibre BoardExperience with electrical circuits and componentry and the installation ofRelevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the building trades or manufacturing industryWhat we offerAt Cobcraft Manufacturing Limited, we are committed to our employees' professional development and well-being.
