Associate In-House Counsel

We're on the hunt for a talented intermediate lawyer to join our Legal team as an Associate In-House Counsel.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice to guide, influence and inform the Bank so that it can operate effectively and within regulatory requirements.Because we are a smaller legal team, this role offers quite a varied range of work including dealing with regulatory matters, contract negotiations, marketing signoffs, privacy matters and material complaints, reviewing training modules and policies, preparing board reports, and giving legal advice to the business.The role best suits someone who wants to:work with a level of autonomy – although within a supportive team environmentbuild relationships with others (including stakeholders within the business)be empowered to make decisions on matters of legal approach and interpretationsolve problems and provide pragmatic advice.You'll also need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels, be proactive, have good time management skills and deliver work of a consistently high standard.Your legal experience and knowledge of financial services law will enable you to effectively assist, educate and support, as required, Bank initiatives and projects.
Experience working in-house and within the banking/financial services industry is advantageous but not required.What's in it for you?
