SPECIALIST ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGISTThe District serves communities throughout North and West Auckland, a population of approximately 640,000 people and employing more than 8,400 people.
Dedicated to the delivery of public health care, we are committed to 'making a healthy difference' to the patient and their family, the community, iwi, and the healthcare workforce.The Surgical Pathology Unit provides the histology and cytology services to our two main hospitals, BreastScreen Northland and BreastScreen Auckland Central.
Our IANZ accredited, well-equipped department processes approximately 52,000 specimens from 30,000 patients per year from a range of specialties including, but not limited to, gastroenterology, breast, gynaecology, genito-urinary, skin, and head and neck.
The Unit is seeking a permanent full-time Anatomical Pathologist.We currently have 12 FTE specialist Anatomical Pathologists on staff working as generalists with areas of subspecialist interest.
Our department participates in the registrar rotation for the Auckland training scheme.
Experience in cytopathology is desired.The successful applicant must hold or be eligible for current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).If you are interested in this position, please apply online and attach an up-to-date copy of your CV for consideration.
